The significance of asbestos medicals cannot be understated, given the potential health risks associated with asbestos exposure. Private Medical Clinic aims to raise awareness about the severe and even fatal conditions linked to asbestos exposure, including Mesothelioma, Asbestos-related lung cancer, Asbestosis, Non-malignant pleural disease. Depending on your profession and responsibilities, you need one of two types of asbestos medicals in the UK. You will need to consult the HSE guidelines to clarify if your work needs to be “licensed” on “non-licensed”
For those involved in licensed asbestos work, our HSE Appointed Doctors carry out comprehensive medical assessments. This category encompasses activities such as building demolition, asbestos removal, coatings, insulation, and more. Licensed asbestos work requires strict maintenance of health records, supervised by the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 (CAR). Our medical assessments guarantee that you fulfil the regulatory requirements and meticulously uphold your health records.
We provide extensive non-licensed asbestos medical examinations for individuals who may inadvertently encounter asbestos. This pertains to professions like garage and ceiling repair, painting, and construction sites. Our assessments encompass various activities, including working with asbestos cement products, drilling, and painting asbestos insulating boards. Adherence to medical examinations is obligatory for new workers entering into notifiable non-licensed work, beginning in 2015.

How often do I need an Asbestos Medical?
Workers engaged in licenced asbestos work are required to undergo a medical examination no more than two years prior to commencing asbestos-related tasks. Subsequently, these assessments should be repeated every two years if the individual continues working with asbestos. For Non-Licensed Asbestos Medicals, evaluations are conducted every three years.Upon completion of the examination, two duplicates of an authentic HSE certificate will be provided. One copy will be handed to the employee, while the other will be forwarded to the employer. The employer will not receive any confidential specifics from the employee’s medical records. Health records must be retained for a minimum of 40 years.
